What makes the difference between standard LT, stem cell concentrated LT, and SC assisted LT (CAL)? Print E-mail

Transplanted fat can only survive over longer periods of time if it contains a high amount of undamaged, vital cells (among them especially stem cells). Therefore the right, careful harvesting and processing is essential for the success of Lipotransfer.

In standard Lipotransfer, own-fat, harvested by Liposuction or surgery is implanted without any further processing. The natural content of stem cells remains unchanged. If this procedure is performed perfectly and most gentle, about 60 % of the implanted volume will last over long time. Therefore treatment should be repeated after some period.

In stem cell concentrated Lipotransfer own-fat harvested by Liposuction or removed surgically will be concentrated. Thereby the content of vital cells and stem cells is increased. If this procedure is performed perfectly and most gentle, about 70–80 % of the implanted volume will last over long time. Treatment can be repeated after some period, if necessary.

In stem cell assisted Lipotransfer (CAL) stem cells from own fat will be isolated in complicated laboratory procedures and then added to the portion of fat which will be implanted. This procedure will give longer lasting results than any other method. On the long run about 95 % of the implanted volume can be expected to last. Treatment need not be repeated.
